"In the past two generations a new genetic phenomena started to appear: certain persons among us have developed resistant strains to urban pollution: no respiratory problems when exposed daily to exhaust fumes, no headache due to an extraordinary loud work environment, no running eyes due to dust clouds. The phenomenon is too recent to judge its impact on the future of mankind. Scientists stay alarmed: Any genetic evolution that happens over a stretch of only 60 years is alarming!
Interestingly this phenomenon is more common in the East than in the West, and has emerged parallel to the remarkable growth rates Asian cities are experiencing since the end of the twentieth century." ---By Hynek Bures
